What is a compensable injury?

In Pennsylvania, compensable injuries are those which arise during the course of employment, including the aggravation of pre-existing injuries and the acceleration of disease.

What types of injuries qualify for workers' compensation?

Almost any injury or illness that occurs on the job could be covered by workers' compensation but some of the most common claims include:

  • Repetitive stress injuries (i.e. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome)
  • Broken bones
  • Spinal cord injuries (i.e. disc herniation)
  • Exposure to toxic chemicals resulting in injury
